The Prisons Department has taken steps to grant home leave to 101 inmates who spent good time in 17 prisons tomorrow (20th).
The 101 inmates who have contributed to the prison rehabilitation process, including religious, educational and vocational training, will be granted leave.
Prison Media Commissioner (Administration) Chandana Ekanayake said that these prisoners will be given leave every three months for 7 days, 10 days and 14 days three times.
So go on vacation and spend that time with his relatives in goodness and productivity and go back to prison
Mr. Ekanayake said that steps will be taken to present the prisoners to the Licensing Board and release them.
Mr. Ekanayake further said that this housing leave scheme will be implemented for prisoners who have been incarcerated for a long time and after obtaining a report from the police, temples, Grama Niladharis and victim parties in the areas where they live.
