The police were arrested by the police protesting near the road to the parliament.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thanduwa stated that 12 persons have been arrested from the group.
He said that they were arrested for blocking the access road to the parliament and obstructing the vehicles passing through it.
A police spokesman added that two women and 10 men were among those arrested.
During the protest, there was a warm situation among the protesters and police officers.
