Our correspondents say that there are still long queues at petrol stations in many parts of the island.
They also said that some filling stations have been closed due to lack of fuel.
Authorities said the strike was triggered by a strike by the Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association, which has withdrawn from fuel distribution.
They had started a strike on April 30 against the non-increase in transport prices in line with the increase in fuel prices.
Accordingly, the Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association stated that the distribution of fuel has been carried out since last night.
The joint secretary of the association Speaking to the media, Mr. Santa Silva said that about 90% of the tanker owners have reported for duty by now.
