Gota - The Bribery Commission is re-filing a case against Johnny who was withdrawn during the Mahinda regime

The Bribery Commission today (30) filed another case in the Colombo High Court against three suspects, including former Minister Johnston Fernando.

The other defendants in the case are CWE. Eraj Fernando, a former chairman of the company, and Mohamed Shakeer, a former acting director, have been named.

Acting Minister of Trade from January 01, 2010 to September 31, 2010 The Bribery Commission has re-filed indictments against Johnston Fernando and other accused, alleging that the company had incurred a loss of Rs.

The Bribery Commission had filed a case in the Colombo Magistrate's Court against Johnston Fernando and other accused during the previous government.

However, the Bribery Commission withdrew the allegations after considering the preliminary objections raised by the defendants that the three commissioners had not given their written approval to the cases.

Accordingly, the Magistrate had ordered the release of Johnston Fernando and the other accused from the charges.

The Bribery Commission then announced that it would take legal action against Johnston Fernando.

However, those cases were not re-filed under the previous Gota-Mahinda Rajapaksa government and the re-filing took place after a considerable period of time.

Forty-five people have been named as witnesses in the case.
