Galle Face protesters have launched a protest saying that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the new Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe cannot accept the ruling party.
Artists, social activists and professionals are joining the protest.
They say that the appointment of UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as the new Prime Minister is unacceptable and condemns it.
They are also carrying placards with the slogan "Ranil Rajapaksa = go home".
