To provide relief to the people and to maintain public services Rs. 695 billion supplementary estimate !

Cabinet approval has been granted to submit a supplementary estimate to Parliament to provide the necessary funds to continue the essential public service without interruption.

Accordingly, the required allocation of Rupees. 695 billion will be made under the Budget Support Services and Emergency Responsibility projects of the Department of National Budget.

The relevant proposal has been submitted to the Cabinet by the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

At the beginning of 2022, the government introduced a relief package for Samurdhi recipients, estate people, retirees and public servants to minimize the hardships faced by the general public due to the adverse economic conditions.

Funds will be allocated from this supplementary estimate for that as well.
