We are not leaving the country - Mahinda and Namal Rajapaksha

 


Former Prime Minister and  Namal Rajapaksa has told AFP that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who has resigned, will not flee the country. Told the news service today (10th).

The whole country is now on fire due to the unrest after Mahinda Rajapaksa's supporters attacked the protesters in the Gallface.

“There are a lot of rumors that we are leaving. We are not leaving the country, ”said Namal Rajapaksa.

Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that Mahinda will not resign from the post of Member of Parliament and that he wants to play an active role in selecting his successor.

Protesters broke down the fence of Temple Trees, his official residence in the capital Colombo, on Monday night and took Mahinda to an undisclosed location.

"My father is safe. He is in a safe place. He communicates with his family," he added.
