The raid was carried out by an undercover detective following a tip-off that the manager of the Nuwara Eliya CID's Corruption Unit was selling kerosene at his house in the Lusa section of the Great Western Estate in Talawakele.

According to the officers of the Anti-Corruption Unit who carried out the raid, the manager's father had sold a liter of kerosene at a higher price at the time of the raid. Has been declared.

Meanwhile, on a tip off received by the Maskeliya Police, the manager and an employee of a petrol station belonging to the Maskeliya Multipurpose Co-operative Society in Maskeliya had secretly refueled petrol at the petrol station.

The Maskeliya Police OIC has released the manager of the petrol station warning him not to do such things again.
