How schools will be held This week

The Ministry of Education has issued a statement on how to conduct academic activities in schools during the week from June 20 to June 24.

Accordingly, it has been decided not to hold schools in the Colombo region of the Western Province and nearby cities and in major cities in other provinces this week.

The ministry said that all provincial education officials, including those in the Western Province, have been authorized to take appropriate action with regard to schools in non-major cities.

Accordingly, it has been decided to allow the provincial education authorities to start and maintain schools in schools with low enrollment at the divisional level under conditions where transportation difficulties do not affect students, teachers and principals.

Also, considering the number of students and teachers who are unable to attend a school, principals are allowed to consult with the Zonal Director of Education and take appropriate action if it is possible to maintain the school on that condition as well.

If a group of students is unable to participate in the school even though it is being held, it is possible to use that method if there are facilities available for those students to teach online.
