A car collided with the Sagarika Express train traveling from Galle to Colombo this morning (01) at the Boossa-Wellabada railway crossing in Galle.
A nurse of the Karapitiya Hospital and another woman were traveling in the car and it is reported that they escaped unhurt.
The car was severely damaged and residents in the area said the alarm and colored light signals at the railway crossing had not been activated for months.
Due to that, the chances of accidents at this railway crossing are high, said the residents of the area.
