Ranil says that he is ready to let Anura and resign

Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe says that he is ready to resign from the government led by him if he is able to build the country in 6 months.

The Prime Minister announced this while speaking in Parliament today (July 5).

"If MP Anura Dissanayake can change this in 6 months, we are ready to hand it over. Therefore, I specifically say that it is useless to go on the road on Thursday and Friday. Here we have a debate and if he is successful, we will resign. We resign. Accept him. No one is here. I will tell you the other one later. If you are shouting so much, we will make our friend Mr. Wimal Weerawansa the Leader of the House when he becomes the Prime Minister. That's what it means."

Meanwhile, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa were present at Parliament today.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was speaking about the discussions with the representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the current economic situation of the country at that time.
