“Take the fourth dose immediately” – Dr. Hemantha Herath

The Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath urges the people to be careful to avoid contracting Covid-19 and to get the 4th dose as soon as possible.

In a press conference held today (July 26), Mr. Hemantha Herath mentioned that a new variant of the Covid-19 epidemic is spreading rapidly around the world and an increase in infected people has been observed in Sri Lanka in the past few days.

He emphasized here that it is recommended to wear face masks especially in public places, when using public transport as well as in indoor places where a large number of people gather and other health guidelines should also be followed properly.

He said that there will be no expiration of the Covid vaccine after June 31, and further mentioned that the company has extended its period until October 31.

In this regard, Acting Chief Epidemiologist, Specialist Dr. Samitha Ginge said that there should be no fear about the Covid vaccine.
