Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that statements have been recorded by 11 Members of Parliament regarding the attack on protesters on the 9th and the riots.
A police spokesman said that two of the parliamentarians have been further remanded.
He also said that statements of local government representatives have been recorded and some of them have been remanded.
he stated that 1878 suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident that took place on the 9th.
Nihal Thalduwa further stated that 831 suspects have been remanded so far.
