The CID has obtained a statement from former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Statement was obtained from the former Prime Minister May 24 regarding the violence that took place near Temple Trees in Kollupitiya on May 9 and at Galle Face Green.

The Police Media Spokesman further stated that the CID officers had visited the former Prime Minister's residence for nearly 5 hours and obtained statements regarding the incident.
