Four more suspects in the murder of Polonnaruwa District Parliamentarian Amarakeerthi Athukorala have been arrested by the CID.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that the four suspects were arrested in the Nittambuwa area.
Three of the four suspects arrested have been remanded and one suspect is to be produced before court, the police spokesman said.
He further stated that 12 suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Mr. Athukorala.
MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala was assassinated on May 9 during a riot in Nittambuwa.
