Four persons including a young woman have been arrested in Borella for accusing police officers !


Four persons, including a young woman, have been arrested for obstructing the duties of police officers in the Borella Police Division, police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalluwa said.

A police spokesman said that the four suspects were arrested at a hotel in Kollupitiya, including two young women and two young men.

It has been revealed that the girl had been drinking at the time of the arrest and that the other girl was in possession of a drug called Kush at that time.

The police spokesman said that the girl has been referred to the Judicial Medical Officer for a medical examination.

The suspects were to be produced before the Magistrate's Court today on several charges including obstruction of duty by police officers, criminal coercion of a public servant and threatening.

When two police officers stopped a motorbike traveling on the road and obtained the driver's license of the cyclist, the girl had behaved in a riotous manner, scolding a police officer.

The girl and the young man who had threatened the police officer had regained their driving licenses and left the scene.
