A gas robbery incident has been reported from the Armor Street area in Colombo.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal stated that the Armor Street Police have received a complaint that nearly 52 gas cylinders have been stolen in the Armor Street area.
Accordingly, the police have taken action to arrest two persons in connection with the incident.
He said that the gas cylinders had been loaded on a lorry by the residents of the area.
A police spokesman said the lorry also had empty cylinders, but the exact number of gas cylinders carried by residents had not yet been determined.
He said that some people had paid for the gas cylinders and others had taken the cylinders without paying.
The police spokesman further stated that further investigations are being carried out into the persons who carried the gas cylinders.
