The World Bank does not plan to provide new financial facilities to Sri Lanka until an adequate macroeconomic policy framework is in place in Sri Lanka. Says Farris H. Hadad-Zervo.
He was quoting media reports that the World Bank was ready to provide $ 700 million to Sri Lanka in the near future.
World Bank Resident Representative in Sri Lanka and Minister of External Affairs Prof. GL Perris A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs following a meeting between Mr. Perris stated that the World Bank has agreed to provide US $ 700 million to Sri Lanka in the near future.
The Sri Lankan media also quoted the statement as saying that the World Bank had not yet made that decision.
The director added on his Twitter account that he was advising on policies to redesign some resources from existing projects and restore economic stability and would help reverse past policies.
