Police withdraw court order against protests near parliament !

A request made by the Thalangama Police to issue an order preventing protests near Parliament tomorrow and the day after tomorrow was rejected by the court today.

That was by the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court.

The Kaduwela Magistrate rejected the request after deciding that the facts presented by the police regarding the riot or removal of an obstruction were not sufficient.

The Inter-University Student Federation and a number of other organizations had planned to hold a series of protests near Parliament tomorrow.
