The Public Utilities Commission has given permission for a 3 hour and 20 minute power cut island wide from May 6 to May 8 today.
Its chairman Janaka Ratnayake said that power cuts would occur in two main zones from 09.00 am to 09.30 pm.
Accordingly for A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I,J, K and L zones 2 hours from 09.00 am to 05.00 pm and 1 hour and 20 minutes from 05.00 pm to 09.00 pm Pruning will be done.
Also for P, Q, P, S, T, U, V and W zones, power cuts will be from 09.00 am to 05.00 pm for 2 hours and from 05.00 pm to 09.00 pm for 01 hours and 20 minutes.
In addition, there will be a three-hour power cut for the CC zone from 06.00 am to 09.20 am.
