Police have arrested three people, including a TV presenter, for aiding and abetting the spread of violence on social media.
According to the Police Media Unit, the suspects have been arrested following an investigation by the relevant police stations, special investigation units and the CID into the May 9 violence across the country.
The arrested TV presenter is a 39 year old resident of Narahenpita, Colombo 5.
One of the other two suspects is a 21 year old resident of Gangodawila.
The other suspect is a 22 year old resident of Dickwella, police said.
The police stated that further investigations will be carried out against the suspects under the Computer Crimes Act.
