21 Conspiracy to Defeat ” !

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara has said that a conspiracy to defeat the 21st Amendment to the Constitution is being hatched by the ruling party itself.

He accused the government of camping against the amendment.

He was speaking at a media briefing at the SLFP headquarters yesterday (May 31).

He also said that the people should be wary of those who vote against the 21st Amendment to the Constitution when it is put to a vote in Parliament.

He accused the government of sabotaging the vote, defeating the 21st Amendment and re-enacting the Twentieth Amendment to establish a dictatorial monarchy.

The Secretary General also requested the people of the country to stand up against any attempt to create a system in which foreigners can be promoted to key positions in Sri Lanka.

He added that this was never a threat and that it was the responsibility of all the people of this country to support the democratic process in the country.
