Meanwhile, a meeting of the ruling party group chaired by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was held yesterday afternoon and it is reported that attention has been paid to the 21st amendment to the constitution.

Meanwhile, MP Jagath Kumara stated that the members were briefed on the economic situation of the country at the group meeting.

Speaking to the media after the meeting of the ruling party group, General Secretary of the Sri Lanka People's Front Sagara Kariyawasam stated that many people were of the opinion that it would not be practical to bring in constitutional amendments without resolving the problems of the people.
