6 suspects arrested in connection with double murder

Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of two residents of Nochchikulama, aged 33 and 42, on June 10.

Officers of the Uyilankulama and Talaimannar Police and the Mannar Divisional Crime Branch are investigating the murder and arrested the six suspects at the Murunkan Police Division yesterday (June 21) morning.

The arrested suspects aged 21, 30, 41 and 63 are residents of Nochchikulam and Nanattan areas.

The arrested suspects are due to be produced before the Mannar Magistrate's Court today (June 22).

Twelve suspects have been arrested and remanded in connection with the crime.

Uilankulama and Thalaimannar Police and Mannar Divisional Crime Branch are conducting further investigations.
