Accidents on the rise: Cycling carefully

There have been 1,202 road accidents this year and 96 of them have been cyclists, police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.

A police spokesman said that the DIG has issued a series of instructions to the public regarding the use of bicycles in the face of the fuel crisis.

Accordingly, the DIGs in charge of the districts, divisional officers, HQIs and OICs have been issued this set of instructions, he said.

The Police Media Spokesman further stated that the relevant instructions are to inspect the bicycles traveling on the road and give the necessary instructions to the cyclists within the next two weeks.
