"Diesel for all private buses from the nearest depot: Do not come to other filling stations"

Kanchana Wijeskara, Minister of Power and Energy says that steps will be taken to supply diesel to all private buses at the nearest SLTB depot.

He made this statement at a special press conference held today (June 19).

The Minister said that the Minister of Transport and the Chairman of the SLTB have already been informed in this regard.

Accordingly, they have agreed to issue diesel 24 hours a day, the minister said.

He said the president had instructed police to monitor the situation.

He also said that the Minister of Transport has agreed to issue diesel for buses and vans transporting foreigners as well as buses and vans transporting school children through the SLTB Depot.

The Minister further stated that diesel will be provided by the SLTB Depot for buses and vans transporting public and private sector employees.
