Another petrol today - A ship


The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says that a ship carrying 35,000 metric tons of petrol is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (June 23).


A senior official of the corporation stated in an that the petrol tanker had been purchased from a new supply company.


The official further said that in view of the acute shortage of petrol in the country, it is planned to unload the petrol from this ship and deliver it to the petrol stations from tomorrow (June 24).


Addressing a media briefing in Colombo recently, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that the fuel shortage would be alleviated after the 23rd of this month.
