Businessman Dhammika Perera has informed the Supreme Court today (June 20) that he will not be sworn in as a Member of Parliament or a Minister until a decision is taken on the fundamental rights petitions filed against him in the Supreme Court.


Businessman Dhammika Perera has informed the Supreme Court today (June 20) that he will not be sworn in as a Member of Parliament or a Minister until a decision is taken on the fundamental rights petitions filed against him in the Supreme Court.


He has informed the Supreme Court of this decision through a lawyer.


Businessman Dhammika Perera has stated this while hearing five fundamental rights petitions filed in the Supreme Court stating that his swearing in as a Member of Parliament is unconstitutional.


The petitions are due to be heard again tomorrow (June 21).
