Dudley clashes with mill owners over rice price hike

A heated situation arose during a press conference held by the owners of large and medium scale rice mills regarding the price of rice.

The situation arose due to differences between them regarding the price of rice.

Mr. Dudley Sirisena said that the government should take over Paddy mill which does not sell rice at the controlled price as it will be sold at the government controlled price for the next three months.

However, Dudley Sirisena stood up and left the media after New Ratna rice owner Lankeshwara Mithrapala, who was present at the press conference, said that rice could not be controlled.
