Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that fuel prices will go up again.

The Prime Minister made this remark in a special statement in Parliament yesterday (June 22).

Mr. Wickremasinghe said that the increase in prices in the face of the Russian-Ukrainian war would affect other countries as well.

“We are trying to get oil and activate it. We are trying to take the country to supply oil. Now oil prices have to rise again. Last week, Russia stopped supplying gas to Europe. It will increase the price of gas and oil. That in England it would increase by 30% to 40%. Then we need to use our 500 million to bring as much oil as we can. It is not in our hands. That is the situation in the world because of the war in Ukraine. ”

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister stated that Rupees. 200 billion will be allocated from the new budget.

He said that with the money received from the investments made under the World Bank's financial facility, work has already begun to purchase the required domestic gas for two months.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that three high-ranking Indian officials will visit Sri Lanka on June 23 to discuss the country's economic crisis and future relief.
