Leader of the Sri Lanka People's Front Mahinda Rajapaksa has stated that an election should be held after resolving the current crisis in the country.

Former Prime Minister and Leader of the Sri Lanka People's Front Mahinda Rajapaksa has stated that an election should be held after resolving the current crisis in the country.

Although many in the opposition have spoken of holding an election today, Mahinda Rajapaksa has stated that he is of the opinion that the current period is not conducive to it.

He has expressed these views during a recent discussion with the members of the People's Front. He said that the people were in a very difficult period and they could not develop an election mentality and the present rulers should take immediate action to solve the problems of the country.

Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has stated that all parties and the opposition should work together to find a solution to these crises, not individually, and that the ruling Sri Lanka People's Front (SLPP) is ready to assist in resolving the country's crises, regardless of party affiliation or color.
