Former Secretary to the President PB Jayasundera, former Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal and a group of former senior officials of the Ministry of Finance have been summoned before the Committee on Public Finance.
They are Dr. PB Jayasundara, Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Prof. W.D. Lakshman and former Secretary to the Ministry of Finance SR. Attygalle.
Its chairman MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said that in addition, the current Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Mahinda Siriwardena have also been summoned before the Committee.
The call was made in connection with an investigation into the causes of the current economic crisis in the country.
