Prevented plane crash in mid-air

A SriLankan Airlines pilot has managed to prevent an accident on a flight from London, England on Monday (June 13).

SriLankan Airlines flight UL-504 U-330, carrying 275 passengers and 15 crew members from London Heathrow Airport to London Katunayake Airport, departed from London Heathrow Airport at around 10.30 am Has entered.

At the time, the plane was flying at an altitude of 33,000 feet, connecting with the main air traffic control room in Ankara, Turkey.

There, the plane was lifted to an altitude of 35,000 feet and instructed to fly within that range by the Ankara Air Traffic Control.

However, the pilot of the SriLankan Airlines flight, who inquired about the advice, observed the situation with radar equipment on his aircraft. The airline itself has been able to see that it is flying faster than its own plane.

The distance between the two planes was as close as 15 miles and in three or four minutes the SriLankan pilot realized that an accident could have occurred if he had approached this aircraft.

The SriLankan pilot immediately alerted the Ankara flight control room that the British aircraft was not on their radar when they were instructed, but that the aircraft was now on their radar. Accordingly, steps have been taken to direct the SriLankan Airlines to further operate this flight at an altitude of 33,000 feet.

The British plane also had more than 250 passengers and crew on board.

Accordingly, the maturity of the SriLankan pilot who acted prudently has enabled him to avoid a major plane crash in the skies.

The SriLankan Airlines flight landed safely at the Katunayake Airport at 12.40 pm yesterday.
