Reduction of power cuts: A new methodology is about to be introduced

Kanchana Wijesekera, Minister of Power and Energy says that the power cut will be reduced to 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The Minister said that a new methodology has been proposed for this purpose.

Accordingly, it has been proposed to cut off power alternately during the day for three days and at night for three nights, he said.

If an area is cut off for 2 hours and 15 minutes during the day for three days, the same area will be cut off for the next three days.

Power cuts occur at night.

The Minister said that the approval of the Public Utilities Commission should be obtained for the relevant proposal.
