Good news for those in the tourism industry

Co-Cabinet Spokesman Manusha Nanayakkara says that the current loan waiver period for those engaged in the tourism sector has been extended to December 31.

He was speaking at a media briefing on June 7.

On June 6, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando submitted a proposal to the Cabinet to extend the loan grace period to December 31, which was approved by the Cabinet, Manusha Nanayakkara said.

He further said that the loan concession period given to non-government financial institutions up to March 31 has now been canceled and the credit limit given to other state-owned banks and financial institutions will expire in June.
