US diplomats arrive in Sri Lanka


The delegation was received by officials from the US Embassy in Sri Lanka and officials from the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


The US Embassy in Sri Lanka announced that a delegation from the US Treasury Department and the State Department will remain in Sri Lanka until the 29th of this month.


The delegation will include Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Asia Robert Caproth and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Kelly Keiderlin.


During their visit, they will hold discussions with senior government officials, political party representatives as well as economic experts and representatives of international organizations.


The US embassy said the delegation would look into more effective ways to assist Sri Lanka.
