"Dispensing of drugs in hospital clinics is restricted: the hospital system is also at risk of failure"

Dr. Prasad Colomboge, a member of the Government Medical Officers Association, says that the hospital system is becoming inoperable due to the fuel crisis.

Mr. Colombage mentioned that the program of providing fuel to the hospital staff should continue to be regular.

He said that if this is not done in a planned and organized manner, it will be difficult to maintain the health service in the face of upcoming crises.

Meanwhile, the doctor said that due to the increase in the price of medicines in the public and private sector, the shortage of medicine stock is putting the people in difficulty.

He further said that dispensing of medicines in hospital clinics has been restricted.

"Medicines that were issued for a month earlier are now limited to two weeks. Medicines that were released for two weeks now have been limited to a week. Due to the lack of available medicines in many hospitals, doctors have had to write to buy medicines from outside. The main reason for this is because of financial problems, transportation problems, ordering problems, and the lack of dollars that have occurred internationally, they have left this field. Some people have completely ruled out the importation of medicines in this field. Through that, there has been a shortage of medicines in the country so far."
