The government's decision to reduce busy at the passport office

The Ministry of Public Administration has decided to temporarily assign the officers of the Management Service Officer Service to the Immigration and Emigration Department.

The Director General of Integrated Services of the Ministry of Public Administration has notified all heads of institutions in this regard on July 6 yesterday.

Due to the increase in the daily number of clients visiting the Colombo office of the Immigration and Emigration Department, the Comptroller General of Immigration and Emigration has submitted a request to assign Management Service Officers on a temporary basis for a period of three months in order to successfully cope with the current situation.

Accordingly, it has been decided to assign to the Immigration Department for a period of three months for the officers of the Management Service Officer Service residing at a distance of 10 km from the Head Office of the Immigration Department, Battaramulla.

The heads of all institutions have been informed to give the requests and recommendations of the officials who wish to work in day and night shift system before the 11th day.

It has been informed by the Director General of Joint Services that considering this as an urgent need, it will be done on priority basis and that the assignments will be made according to the order of receiving the requests.
