In its letter, the monks' organization has also informed the President that if they do not leave, they will gather all the monks in Colombo and carry out a continuous and massive struggle from this 7th day.
The letter also indicated that this step was taken because the government did not show a positive response or inclination to the notification made by the Tairanikaika Mahana Theros who signed a joint declaration to take immediate action to alleviate the crisis and anarchic situation in the country.
The letter also states that by not responding to the declaration of the Trinitarian Mahanayaka, the president has deceived the people by taking an oath in the Ruwanwelisa shrine, the shrine where Sri Maha Bodhi resides, that he will come to power with the votes of the Buddhist people and serve the people.
The letter also indicated that the vast majority of 60,000 people, including Buddhist monks, elected the president with their faith in Kapparak, but those people do not have the slightest faith in the president and that the monks and the entire people of the country are not ready to accept Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as the president anymore. .
The 'Union of Monks Organizations' has further indicated in its letter that this request is being made as it is the absolute duty of a monk to take measures to prevent them when a great disaster appears in the country and also to work for the upliftment of 22 million people.
This letter was sent accompanied by 11 monks including Sumangala of Ulapane, Vijitha of Kobeigane, Dhammalankara of Mathura.
