A bowser carrying diesel brought to the IOC petrol station in Weligama was not allowed to land, causing a severe heat wave.

A large number of motorcycles, three-wheelers and other vehicles were waiting in long queues on information that fuel was being delivered to the IOC petrol station in Weligama.

A bowser carrying diesel had arrived at around 8.30 Yesterday morning and a group of drivers who had been waiting at the spot to collect the petrol had protested by blocking the road at the spot not allowing the diesel bowser to land until the petrol was received.

The diesel bowser was then taken into police custody and secured.
