A decision to suspend the power cut !

Minister of Power and Energy Kachana Wijeskara says that efforts will be made to provide uninterrupted power supply from the beginning of next week.

He said that despite the increase in cost, a policy decision would have to be taken to increase the amount of diesel and fuel available for power generation.

The Minister pointed out that many people are hoarding fuel for cans, barrels and buckets claiming to be for generators, thereby reducing the amount of fuel available to the general public.

The Minister said that this situation could be avoided by providing uninterrupted power supply.

He further said that the Norochcholai power plant will be added to the national grid by tomorrow and a decision will be taken to manage the hydro power and provide uninterrupted power supply on Monday or Tuesday.
