Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that a full report with the relevant amendments will be submitted to the Cabinet after consulting the party leaders on the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.

The Prime Minister made this statement while making a special statement regarding the relevant constitutional amendment.

Following is the statement made by the Prime Minister regarding the 21st Amendment to the Constitution presented to the Cabinet.

"The committee met today to discuss the 21st Amendment to the Constitution. It was decided to present Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa's draft and present it to the Cabinet. We are informed that Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa will hand over copies of the 21st Amendment to the party leaders in Parliament. We hope to meet on Friday to obtain those views.

"We are expeditiously publishing this amendment first in the gazette notification and then giving the opportunity to those who want to go to the Supreme Court. It should be presented to Parliament and passed immediately with the full support of all."
