Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Transport and Highways says that the suggestions of experts will be sought on possible solutions to the problems that have arisen in the field of public transport.


The Minister said this at a workshop held at the Ministry of Transport and Highways auditorium with Prof. Amal Gunaratne of the University of Moratuwa and other experts in the field of transport.


The Minister has stated that the proposals that can be implemented expeditiously from the ideas and suggestions submitted by the experts will be implemented within the next two weeks.


Accordingly, in addition to the existing train services, an additional 50 train services will be added within the next two weeks and long term proposals will be discussed once again with officials involved in the transport sector and other parties, he said.
