The Sri Lanka Police has issued a special notice to the protesters at Galle Face using the loudspeaker system of the President's House.

This is a statement issued by the Sri Lanka Police under Section 2 of the Public Ordinance

Accordingly, a state of emergency has been declared island wide from May 6 and a curfew has been imposed from May 9 to 7 am tomorrow. Therefore, no one is permitted to stay on a public road, railroad, public park, public playground, or beach in those areas, except under the authority of a written permit issued by an authorized official. Therefore, I hereby inform you that violating the provisions of the curfew is an offense under existing law. ”
