According to the latest data released by the Department of Census and Statistics, Sri Lanka's annual inflation based on the National Consumer Price Index (NPI) stood at 33.8 percent in April.
Food inflation was 29.5 percent in March, compared to 45.1 percent in April.
Non-food inflation stood at 14.5 percent in March, compared to 23.9 percent in April.
According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the monthly household expenditure in April increased by Rs. 5672.59 compared to March.
