Millionaire businessman Ibrahim released on bail for allegedly supporting Easter attack


The Colombo High Court has ordered the release on bail of millionaire businessman Mohamed Ibrahim, the father of two suicide bombers involved in the Easter Sunday attack, and another suspect who were remanded in custody.


The other accused released on bail is Mohamed Hijaz.


The order was passed by Judge Navaratne Marasinghe after the accused were produced before the Colombo High Court today (May 25).


The Prevention of Terrorism Act and the Penal Code against three suspects, including millionaire businessman Mohamed Ibrahim, a resident of Mahavila Park, Dematagoda, have been charged with concealing information from the police after learning that a suicide attack was to take place on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019. Had been filed.


The court rejected the bail application of the other suspect, Mohammad Ismail Ahmed.
