Petroleum Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has said that an investigation has been launched into proposals to increase the prices of octane 95 and super diesel.
He points out that the percentage of fuel used is as low as 10%.
Therefore, raising the prices of octane 95 and super diesel is not a solution to the current economic crisis, he said.
If so, he said, demand for ordinary fuels could rise further.
