People used to be afraid of president. Now president is afraid of the people.!


Two new Chiefs of Police have been appointed in charge of the President's security with immediate effect from yesterday (May 5).

Accordingly, RMNGO has been appointed as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Presidential Security Division. Perera has been appointed. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Puttalam District.

Meanwhile, SSP GB Jayalath has been appointed as the Director of the Presidential Security Division. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Senior Superintendent of Intelligence and Surveillance in the Nugegoda Division.

Meanwhile, LKD has been appointed to fill the vacant post of Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Puttalam District. Anil Priyantha has been appointed with immediate effect. This is in addition to his post as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Kurunegala District.

Subject to the approval of the Ministry of Public Security, IGP CD Mr. Wickramaratne has made new appointments with these transfers.

The police have been using a protest from the Colombo Fort, from the Colombo Fort to the president of Colombo Fort to the end of the last 3rd road to the presidential road from Colombo Fort. However, the protesters had opened the roadblocks on the road and tried to enter President's Mawatha in front of the Navy Headquarters and proceed towards the Presidential Palace while the PSD officers were also present. However, strict security measures and additional police forces prevented the movement.
