"People's demands must be heeded: Congratulations to the youth of the struggle" - Pope informs President !

 

His Holiness has appealed to the political leaders of Sri Lanka to listen to the demands of the people of Sri Lanka.

He was speaking during a public hearing today.

He also congratulated the protesting youth on the economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

The Holy Father has called on all parties to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the country and to refrain from violence.

"I urge all to listen to the aspirations of the people and to take steps to fully protect human rights and civil liberties," said Pope Francis.
