Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that the main issues of the country are not limited to the economic sector.
He said there were two political issues in the country.
One of them is the implementation of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution and the 21st Amendment is currently being prepared as party leaders, he said.
Second, he pointed to the need to work for the abolition of the executive presidency.
He said it was up to the party leaders to decide the time frame and methodology for that.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the 20th Amendment has weakened Parliament and given more powers to the Executive, which has hampered the functioning of Parliament.
The Prime Minister further stated that steps will be taken to establish 15 Committees to enhance the powers of Parliament over the control of public finances.
